Deep Tissue Massage therapy reaches deeper layers of muscles. It is used to break down spasms and scar tissue and also to relieve painful pressure points throughout the body. Deep tissue therapeutic massage can be uncomfortable at times but should never be painful. On a scale of 1-10, it should never be above a very temporary 6.
Orthopedic/Medical massage is a style of therapeutic massage focused on treating painful conditions that affect the soft tissues of the body. Because orthopedic massage therapy is designed to treat orthopedic and medical conditions, it requires extensive training. It involves releasing tense muscles, helping to stretch and lengthen tight muscles and tendons, and decompress rigid joints. It often combines deep tissue massage & myofascial release . My goal is to restore full health and function to the soft tissues, both treating your specific conditions as well as improving your overall well-being.
Using Deep tissue massage , Trigger point and myofascial release therapy, Sports massage therapy decreases muscle stiffness, spasms and soreness after exercise or physical activity. Benefits include: Increasing circulation, strength, balance, nervous system response and range of motion, leading to enhanced athletic performance. . It also gets you back in the game faster by reducing recovery time and scar tissue post injury.
Massage is an important part of a balanced fitness routine. Improve your mind & body by reducing your physical and psychological stress levels pre and post event.
Myofascial Release is a therapeutic massage technique used to treat injuries and discomfort, reduce pain and increase range of motion. Myofascial release differs from other types of massage therapy in that it targets the fascia - the membrane surrounding muscles - and the muscle restrictions it is causing. Since fascia completely encases every muscle and organ in the body, imbalances in the fascia can cause pain and have serious restrictive effects on your range of motion.
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy massage aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the function of the immune system. MLD can be used for faster recovery from surgery or injury, lymphedema, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy and cancer treatments. (surgical incisions must be healed before treatment)
Oncology Massage therapy is a special type of therapeutic massage developed specifically for people with cancer . People fighting cancer and new survivors have unique needs which must be addressed to make sure that a massage is beneficial to their health. I focus my attention on creating a gentle, nurturing environment for you to relax. As a cancer survivor myself, I understand how important it is to have a sacred space to reduce stress and anxiety, and bridge the disconnect between mind and body.
Elder massage therapy is a therapeutic massage designed to meet the specific needs of seniors. It helps to improve blood circulation, relieve pain, and also increase range of motion. If you are elderly, massage can help you maintain and improve your overall health, as well as regain certain physical functions that have been reduced due to aging. In addition, this massage can also help alleviate symptoms of loneliness or depression. Comfortable, supportive bolstering is available.
Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort and emotional stress experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits of massage therapy are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation. Comfortable, supportive bolstering allows your body to relax and release tension and stress.
